PHEW! This week was a busy one…especially getting back into the work grind after an amazing Memorial Day Weekend spent with the Barkeys….in Vancouver, British Columbia! Yep, we drove a couple hours to spend time with our neighbors up north, and truly, it made me fall in love with living in the Pacific Northwest. While Brent and I are unsure how long we will be here (at least 2 years though!), this definitely solidified the fact that living here feels like an extended vacation. There is so much beauty in the PNW, and so many amazing and fun things to do.
Anyways! We hopped in the car and drove to Vancouver (with puppy on our laps the entire time!). That first night I got to go to my first MLS game (compliments to Greg Barkey…), and while I was confused 97% of the time, I ate stadium food and that made me very happy (it’s the little things!). We also stayed at the the.most.beautiful. Air BnB the entire weekend, and I seriously considered just moving in…
On Sunday we went to the Capilano Suspension Bridge, which, if you know anything about me, was a super highlight. If you know anything about Brent…it was not. #heights. BUT, he did it, AND the puppy did it. Seeing her attempt to walk across a swaying bridge over a body of water was, well, hilarious. We ended the day with a trip to a local Brewery, and lots and lots of card games (always one of my fav parts of Barkey Family Vacations).
Monday was spent eating delicious food (did I mention we ate really well all weekend?), and exploring Stanley Park.
I think it’s safe to say that we loved our time in Canada, and while I don’t want to talk politics…I wouldn’t complain if we had to move there in say…November. Or so. Just kidding. Kind of.
PS – I made this short video of some of the highlights of our trip! Check it out!
